mojocoffee is a Global Cooling™ Business


一家營業中的商店，必須使用到電力，員工通勤則需要汽油；就mojocoffee而言，還有烘焙咖啡所使用的液態瓦斯和烘焙過程所排放的二氧化碳。這些能量的消耗，都會造成溫室效應氣體在大氣中的累積。Mojocoffee一年所排放的二氧化碳總量是164,928 lbs，需要栽種3299棵樹木，才能平衡我們所製造的CO2。

在Tress for the Future基金會專業的建議下，決定在赤道國家栽種快速成長的樹種共3600棵。Mojocoffee透過Trees for the Future種樹，平衡了營業所造成的溫室效應，也為協助這些國家復育因過度開發而貧瘠的土壤，改善當地的農業和居住環境。Global Cooling Business™是基金會發給mojocoffee的認證，告訴大家：mojocoffee很努力地幫地球退燒。

Description: MojoCoffee is a small coffee shop that roasts and sells around 4,000 lbs of coffee every year, including the sale of fine espresso and latte drinks. In addition to buying fair trade and environmentally-friendly coffee, MojoCoffee is looking to further help the global environment by offsetting it’s annual carbon emissions.

Overview: This carbon audit begins with the coffee at the roaster’s door. It covers the energy required to roast and serve MojoCoffee’s products and to run the basic infrastructure of the business.
